Ciena 4200 – update

Ensuring our full range of business connectivity services meet your needs is our top priority. Our Optical Spectrum Extended Access (OSEA) Ciena 4200 solutions are no exception.

With ring and chain options, mid-point amplification capability and a range of interfaces to choose from (including OTU/OTN), our Ciena solutions are the gold standard within our portfolio – capable of reaching farthest and meeting even the most complex network requirements.

All this is great, but if we can't offer our solutions to you at the right price or deliver them fast enough, we know they still won't tick all the boxes they need to. We've listened to all your feedback though and have some great news to share!

Cheaper:

We've taken a long, hard look at our OSEA pricing and made significant, special reductions to the connection charges for bearers, wavelengths and ancillary equipment. In addition to this our current amplification prices will surprise you in exactly the right way!

Prices for all our Optical solutions are quoted on application, but we do encourage you to talk to us about your challenges and see just how cost effective our top quality solutions are right now.

Quicker:

Changing our processes to deliver solutions quicker doesn't happen overnight, but we've already taken the first steps to achieve this. We aim to reduce the current OSEA lead time of 90 days to a target of 35 days – this is something you've been asking for and something we are 100% committed to.

We're currently investigating every aspect of our OSEA provision process to identify efficiencies. We're also working with suppliers to see how they can help and we'll be implementing every improvement as quickly as possible along the way. Aligned to our desire to continue to reduce prices, we're also looking at how we deliver to ensure you are never required to have components or equipment within your solution that you have no physical need for.

Better:

You've been telling us how important it is to know where your resilient fibres will run. In response we've been developing a way to provide route maps for all our Resilient Optical services. Very soon we aim to be able to show local fibre routes and entry points onto each site at street level, with an indicative route map for each leg.

Our desire to deliver all of these improvements means that things are moving fast. The best way to keep up to speed is to stay in touch with your Openreach Sales and Relationship manager. We also recommend bookmarking our Customer Information Zone.
