Single fibre connectivity: Better & potentially faster provision

The use of single fibre connectivity makes it easier to find end-to-end fibre capacity for the service – potentially allowing for faster provision. Fibre is known to have better testing capability and is less prone to faults. Bandwidth capacity is also much higher than that achievable on copper.

In the past, problems locating two spare fibres have sometimes led to Excess Construction Charges (ECCs). EAD’s single fibre connectivity could therefore deliver additional savings over WES, BES and WEES.
